Architectural Details Surprise and Delight at This Starmount Forest Find

This brick home overlooking Hole 5 of Starmount Forest Country Club’s golf course was designed and built by custom builder Bea Melton in 1978. Having only two previous owners, the home underwent a complete renovation in 2014, and no room was left untouched. The unique circular driveway cradles the front of the home, which is a modern marvel. The main floor of the home has 9-foot ceilings, with a 10-foot ceiling in the living room and 8-foot ceilings on the second floor. Everywhere you look, there are gorgeous views of the backyard and Starmount Country Club golf course. The current owners refinished the hardwood floors throughout the first floor and replaced carpet with hardwood flooring in the living room and master bedroom. The tiles in the entrance area, front powder room and dining room are handmade and original to the home.

A Hidden Gem

The most impressive feature of the house is definitely a hidden gem: the old master closets were removed, and a new, two-story his-and-hers closet with a spiral staircase was created. This unique storage feature includes custom lighting with LED light bars, up-lighting and can lighting. A spiral staircase was installed to connect the two closet areas. The upstairs portion of the closets was a former attic. Two skylights were added, and a sustainable cork floor was put down.
